ENVIRONMENTAL ENHANCEMENTS GIVES BACK TO THE COMMUNITY
We care about our community in the same way we care about our clients. We believe that getting involved with the people who support our business is an investment in the collective ecosystem. A community that works together raises everyone up.
Each year, we donate funds, labor, and material to causes that are important to us, for example, the Wounded Warrior Project, the Girl Scouts, maintaining the grounds of a church meeting house—projects and people we feel can benefit from our services. We also participate every year in the Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) Day of Service, where we join forces with other businesses in the community to work on environment-enhancing projects for schools, shelters, and senior centers.
Rock Fish Pond
Catoctin Elementary School
For Catoctin Elementary School, we donated labor and materials to create a ‘pond’ for students to display their one-of- a-kind painted rocks. Environmental Enhancements excavated the pond bed in the shape of a C, lined the pond with filter fabric, and installed an edge restraint to contain the soil. The pond is topped with pea-gravel—the perfect medium for rock fish to swim in!
A few of our PLANET Day of Service Projects:
Little League Fields
Good Times Park, Loudon County
Who doesn’t love baseball and kids? We certainly do. That’s why we sent a rather large crew to Good Times Park—owned by Central Loudon Little League—to do a serious clean-up and improvements. After delivering about 35 cubic yards of ballfield mix and spreading it on all three fields, our guys picked up trash, pulled weeds throughout the park, along dugouts, fences and around backstops. But they didn’t stop there—thanks to our hardworking team, the concession area, under the bleachers, and inside the dugouts are all cleaned up, too. 100% of materials and labor were donated by Environmental Enhancements.
Osbourn Park High School Manassas, Va
To honor the Osbourn Park High School students who tragically lost their lives in 2015, we helped create a memorial garden so families and friends would have a peaceful place to always remember their lost children and friends.
Heritage Hall, Leesburg
To create a more stimulating environment for the seniors at Heritage Hall, we helped clean up the grounds and plant a sensory garden that offers sights, smells, and textures for residents to enjoy.
Grounds clean-up and entryway
Loudon Homeless Emergency Shelter
At the Loudon Homeless Emergency Shelter, we donated material and crews to beautify the grounds and create a more welcoming entry display.
Earth Day Garden
Evergreen Mills Elementary School
We particularly enjoyed working with the kindergartners at Evergreen Mills Elementary School, planting flowers for Earth Day. That was fun!
