Stand Out

I’m broaching a topic we don’t talk about very often—we don’t like to toot our own horn! (Not TOO much, anyway.) However, I feel as though the things that make us different are extremely important for you to know about, because they make your job easier. For today’s newsletter, we organized all the ways we go above and beyond and put them in an easy-to-read checklist for you. Why a checklist? We wanted to offer you a way to evaluate your current provider’s service. Use this guide not just to see how we’re different, but also to make sure you’re getting the service you deserve from your current provider. And if WE’RE you’re current provider, we invite you to evaluate us, too! If you’re not getting what you need, please reach out. We’d love to talk to you about what you can expect when we take care of your properties. Download this guide to make sure you’re getting the service you deserve from your landscape provider.

A Conversation with Erika

Our administrative director Erika Palacios has the unique perspective of someone who was previously employed by a property management company. We rely on her insights and direction to help us make decisions on how we can better serve you. We thought you’d enjoy hearing what Erika has to say! Q: What do you think a property manager most wants in a provider? EP: Reliability and dependability. For property mangers to know and trust that we will do the work and meet their expectations, Property managers don’t want to have to monitor or manage their providers; they’d rather partner with us so they can more easily manage their entire property. Q. What do you think a property manager most wants in a landscape provider in particular? EP: Subject matter experts. Property managers want professionals that help them plan and execute their vision of the property—and not have to hassle with managing them. To be notified of potential issues ahead of time is a real plus so they can address problems before something goes wrong. Q: What do you think a property manager is most often missing from their providers? What goes unattended most frequently? EP: Partnership. To know that not only will the service be completed, but issues will be communicated, plans will be made together, and their providers will handle all concerns. Q. What is a ‘deal breaker’ for a property manager? That is, what is it that a landscape provider would have to do for the PM to look for a new company? EP: When a provider is unreliable—that’s a deal breaker. When someone can’t get communications fast, and they have to chase after the service provider—that’s a deal breaker. Not fixing mistakes—that’s a deal breaker. No one will work for someone who is hard to work with! Q: What are the things a landscape provider can do that go above and beyond? EP: Notify the PM of work to be done. Send out reports of completed work. Offer recommendations. Respond to requests quickly. In short, communications!

Are ticks, mosquitos, and gnats chasing you indoors?

The Big Deal About All Natural Pest Control

In the battle against ticks, gnats, and mosquitoes, choosing an all-natural treatment not only keeps these pests from annoying us, but is also gentler on our health and the environment. Natural repellents rely on plant-based ingredients like chrysanthemum, which is gentler on we humans than the synthetic chemicals found in traditional insecticides. Natural solutions are safer for people and pets, reducing the risk of allergic reactions, skin irritation, and absorption of toxic substances. Natural solutions are particularly important for maintaining ecological balance and protecting beneficial insects like birds, bees and butterflies. They also don’t contaminate soil and water sources the way conventional treatments do. When you opt for all-natural sprays, you can walk in the grass as soon as it dries. Most chemical treatments require you to wait 24 hours before you can go back outside. (What’s that all about, right?) So here’s what you might be thinking now: Yeah, but does the natural stuff really work? The good news is, natural solutions can be just as effective as their chemical counterparts, providing you maintain a treatment schedule throughout the warmer months of the year. If we haven’t scheduled your properties for treatment yet, give me a call or email me and we’ll get you taken care of. Warm Regards, Kyle Thurman Design Director Ask About Organic Options!
