About Fred
When Fred Peratt first started Environmental Enhancements in 2001, he wasn’t happy with the state of the industry he was in. At the time, the landscaping industry was rife with some less-than-impressive qualities:
- Poor workmanship
- Unreliable deliverables
- Failure to take responsibility
- Lack of communication
- Short-term, disposable relationships
Fred was determined to build his company around a level of service that was difficult to find: beautiful, functional landscapes, high-quality maintenance, clear communications, dependability, responsibility, and reliable service.

Specializing in professional services firms, Sharon brings over twenty-five years of experience to her role as CFO. She also acts as advisor to the president, weighing in on key decisions about company operations, growth, and personnel. Our clients know they can always pick up the phone and call her about anything—even if it’s just to say ‘hello.’
David Arze
Production Director
Although formally trained as an economist, David studied topography at the early age of sixteen. David loves technology and has a knack for creating systems that foster efficiencies and improved solutions for clients. He shares his knowledge with our field teams so they can deliver the consistently high quality service that clients have come to expect from the Environmental Enhancements team.

Design Director
With a Masters in Sustainable Landscape Design at George Washington University, Kyle’s approach to landscape design is to provide custom solutions that are unique, sustainably correct, and provide enjoyment over many years. Kyle loves maximizing a property’s potential through Strategic and Master Plans, working closely with clients to make sure they’re continually happy with our work.
Carmen Kesteven
HR Manager
Originally from Bolivia, Carmen worked in immigration law after emigrating to the United States. She thrives in her current role of human resources and office management, and the whole team is inspired by her motto: “Be proud of who you are; take pride in what you do and always do the best you can and a little bit more while enjoying every minute of it!” Carmen loves working with people who share her passion for nature.

Erika chose a career in the green industry because she literally grew up with it. She has wonderful childhood memories of her great uncle taking her to multiple vendors to collect materials for his landscaping company, and her mother worked in the front office of another local landscaping company. Erika particularly enjoys the positive company culture that EE has worked very hard to build and maintain.
Allen Pasco

Allen comes to EE from the restaurant industry, where he had years of experience in general management. He is excited about moving into the ‘green industry’ because it’s a rapidly growing one. Plus, landscaping has always been one of his favorite hobbies. By joining the EE team, Allen looks forward to learning more about one of his favorite things to do.

Jose Alvarado came to EE in 2014 upon the recommendation of a family member. For 11 years prior, he had been working at a furniture store, but always knew there was a better path for him. ”I wanted to learn and do new things,” says Jose. “And I knew there was no opportunity for career growth at the company I was with.”
Jose’s first job at EE involved taking care of watering plants at different site locations, but that was just the beginning. Now a crew manager, Jose does everything from installing plant materials, drainage work, retaining walls, hardscape projects, and removing trees.
EE has provided Jose with training and has helped him get his CDL license, a personal goal for many years. But beyond that, Jose has been able to purchase a home for his family, a tremendous source of pride for him.
”EE has been a good fit,” says Jose. “There is a vision here to advance.” He credits much of this personal development to Fred Peratt, whom he considers both a mentor and a friend.
